CARAVACA, Evangelina. The fires of baradero: a sociological study of protest actions in recent argentina. Antipod. Rev. Antropol. Arqueol. [online]. 2015, n.22, pp.113-132. ISSN 1900-5407.  https://doi.org/10.7440/antipoda22.2015.06.

This article aims to reflect on certain protest actions in recent Argentina. Through a socio-anthropological approach, emphasis is placed on the analysis of certain episodes of social protest, reflecting on the particular forms that social protest and activism adopt in contemporary Argentina on the basis of a case study. Understanding the public space as a field of disputes, we conceive of the various forms of social protest (marches, riots, and demonstrations, etc.) as part of a conflictive everyday context that shapes social tensions and disputes of greater projections.

Keywords : Social protests; riots; social memories; activism; victims.
