Abstract

This article analyzes the national security situation around a central question: why 50 years of internal conflict in Colombia has not ended? The analysis covers issues such as incomplete diagnosis with which the State was intended to give an end to the conflict, the mismanagement that has always been given to the confrontation, lack of organization of the State to address the problem, and the lack of policies, strategies and plans leading to the ending of the confrontation. The paper discusses some of the tools that may be more suitable to the current situation.
