The incorporation of Spanish military forces in international operations has increased the need for translation services in order to achieve precise and indispensable communication between the members of different armies. While there exist a few dictionaries which translate military vocabulary from English into Spanish, there are none from French into Spanish. The military are, therefore, forced to resort to bilingual general dictionaries when they struggle to translate and to make themselves understood. In this paper we analyzed the lexicographic treatment given to military vocabulary in this kind of dictionary, its inclusion and translation, and we evaluated the proposed equivalences
