If in national societies, stateweakness was the most dramatic consequence of the worsening internal tensions of civil conflict, as a result, in the international community it was a source of instability with an enormous capacity to infect the nearby region, which necessitated the involvement of international actors. This paper aims to make a presentation of the main concepts used to define the state degradation process, while analyzing the degree of foreign involvement in crisis management and conflict resolution.
