Between 1919 and 1939 the power struggles between the great powers suggest the heteronomous condition of Colombia regarding external pressures. Certainly Germany had gained influence in Latin America, which represents a challenge for Britain, France and the United States and Latin America became a desired space for the projection of hegemony. Colombia was not exempt from this dynamic and well , although Colombian leaders bowed to pressure from the United States for privileges for their investments , also opened the country unreservedly diverse influences of other powers, Germany was able to develop this opportunity . Militarily, Colombia sought to circumvent the hiring external pressures Chilean missions, Swiss, French and British and individually German instructors. But Chilean influence in Colombia was considered as an extension of German in Latin America. The Swiss influence was also affected by the germanofilia of its delegates, without affecting their motivation to sell weapons to Colombia. Exceptionally the conflict with Peru Leticia Colombia allowed over something his military morass, but prioritizing the imposition of the great powers had to acquire weapons desueto. Under German influence Colombia developed its civil and military aviation, some industries and commerce until the British and American governments imposed remove such influence.
