Abstract

The Colombian Air Force, between 1998 and 2015, led decisive operations for cessation of the internal conflict. Therefore, decisive in politics; they are operational and strategic victories. As irregular combat operations, carried out in the most inhospitable geography, they are an expression of military history and the present time. There operations were decisive in the context of a national capacity developed among other milestones with Plan Colombia, Plan Patriota, the Consolidation Policy and Plan Sword of Honor. The Air Force was key to retrieve Mitu and distension zone of the Caguan. The Force also carried out a sustained effort to defend villages, for close air support to the Army and National Police, neutralize illegal armed groups and drug trafficking. The Air Force was key to neutralizing warlords and gangs of the illegal group, assuming the main effort with precision bombing operations.
