Abstract

MONROY FRANCO, Milton Fernando  and  RAMIREZ LOPEZ, Leonardo Juan. A new methodology for the management of strategic projects: the case of the Air Assault Aviation Division of Colombia. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.24, pp.157-173. ISSN 1900-6586.  https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.362.

The changing scenario of the peace process and the budgetary limitations faced by the Colombian Military Forces has affected the Aviation Air Assault Division, requiring a new management methodology for the strategic staff, military, and aeronautical projects related to this unit. This article describes the implementation of a concept that goes beyond the fulfillment of objectives that responds to the current project needs, combining modern business elements with traditional doctrinal concepts of military planning and facilitating the process of transformation. The application of this concept was achieved with the support of the Strategic Review and Innovation Committees, developed by the Colombian Army Aviation to reduce the time and optimize resources in the context of high levels of Army mobility. The use of the new methodology was successfully achieved with the capable guidance of management.
