Abstract

CASTRO-TORRES, Ivonne Edith; CASALLAS-TORRES, Diego Fernando  and  SALGADO-TORRES, Angie Katerine. The social representation of the National Army in children in conditions of vulnerability in Bogotá. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2019, vol.17, n.26, pp.326-355. ISSN 1900-6586.  https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.405.

In a context of peace, the relations between civil society and the State's armed bodies should be of harmony and mutual understanding. To that effect, it is essential to understand, from a descriptive approach, the images and mental constructions that the population has of the military, especially, the social representations that future adult citizens have of it. Thus, this document aims, through a theoretical framework that involves sociology and psychology, to understand the social representations of vulnerable sectors concerning the Colombian National Army and its functions to contribute to the transformation of the image that this institution has as a preponderant actor in the post-conflict.

Keywords : armed forces; Army; disadvantaged childhood; early childhood; forced displacement; loyalization.
