This article aims to analyze the recently developed strategies in Spain to combat the criminal activities of family clans dedicated to organized crime from police, criminal, and procedural perspectives. It also presents a series of preventive measures aimed to preclude the advent and consolidation of these family clans. The methodology used consisted in consulting open sources in published doctrinal works and press articles concerning the family clan phenomenon. It also used information obtained from an interview with an agent of the Spanish National Police, which yielded new first-hand information on police and criminal measures in this context.
