GONZALEZ PARIAS, Carlos Hernán; LONDONO ARIAS, José Albán; PARADELA LOPEZ, Miguel  e  BUILES TOBON, Carlos Alberto. OECD’s strategies to increase its influence on international economic governance. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.40, pp.832-851.  Epub 01-Out-2022. ISSN 1900-6586.  https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.1012.

This article analyzes the strategies the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has employed to increase its influence on the dynamics of global economic governance since the first decade of the 21st century. The OECD has undertaken three strategies: a strategic alliance with the G-20; the inclusion of new members, especially states whose membership is strategic; and the strengthening of the non-membership partnership to support the transitional development of Latin American and Caribbean countries. This article uses a qualitative methodology involving a documentary review of academic, official, and press texts. It is concluded that these strategies have yielded different results for the organization. On the one hand, the links with the G-20 are relevant; however, the entry of new members’ effectiveness is unclear.
