BAENA-ROJAS, Jose Jaime; MACKENZIE-TORRES, Tania Margarita  e  GUERRERO-MOLINA, María Isabel. Foreign trade policies: Mexican exports after WTO accession 1995-2019. Rev. Cient. Gen. José María Córdova [online]. 2023, vol.21, n.42, pp.453-476.  Epub 01-Abr-2023. ISSN 1900-6586.  https://doi.org/10.21830/19006586.1072.

In the mid-1990s, Mexico joined the multilateral trading system, strengthening its trade liberalization through a series of domestic foreign trade policies. This consolidated the export of finished goods and various raw materials, making this market one of the most important in Latin America. This article identifies some of these foreign trade policies by characterizing the diachronic behavior of exports. For this reason, this work, essentially descriptive, considers secondary official databases, both local and international. It is concluded that among the products that have the greatest impact on Mexico’s total exports, some sectors stand out, such as beverages, technology, household appliances and automobiles, in addition to sectors such as mining and agricultural raw materials. All of them have notable importance compared to other countries.
