Through a theoretical and conceptual analysis, this article explores how social constructivism helps understand the relationship between intelligence producers and users in the Colombian National Army. It argues that the reality of military intelligence is intersubjectively constructed through interactions that shape identities, interests, roles, and behaviors within an organizational structure. It explains that, as social facts, the State's strategic interests are defined through communication and socialization. The article analyzes the relationship between the commander and intelligence agencies for decision-making, situational awareness, and the alignment of interests as fundamental aspects. Furthermore, it highlights civilian control over intelligence services as a guarantee of legitimacy and effectiveness. It concludes that the constructivist approach offers tools to improve and make the organizational processes of military intelligence in Colombia more adaptive and effective.
