Abstract

RENDON CORREA, María Elizabeth; NOGUERA, Ricardo  and  POSADA OCHOA, Sandra Lucía. Ruminal degradation kinetics of the corn silage with different levels of inclusion of vinasse. Ces. Med. Vet. Zootec. [online]. 2013, vol.8, n.2, pp.42-51. ISSN 1900-9607.

Abstract The ruminal degradation kinetics of silage depends on the biochemical changes occurring during the fermentation process. These changes affect the rate of degradation and the nutritional value of silage. The objective of this work was to determine the effect of the addition of vinasse in corn silage on the kinetics of degradation of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (FDA) and hemicellulose (HEM). The inclusion of vinasse in corn silage decreased the soluble fraction and effective degradability of DM when compared to control treatment. The PC degradation was enhanced by the participation of vinasse in the silage. It wasn't verified a clear effect of the vinasse inclusion on cell wall degradation in the corn silage.
