Abstract

MIRANDA MURILLO, Luisa Margarita. Environmental culture: a study from values, beliefs, attitudes and environmental behaviors. Rev. P+L [online]. 2013, vol.8, n.2, pp.94-105. ISSN 1909-0455.

This revision article describes environmental culture from the following dimensions: values, attitudes and ecological behaviors. Environmental culture is the way human beings interact with environment and the first step for understanding it is studying values. These values determine beliefs and attitudes and, finally, they are all elements that give sense to environmental behavior. Environmental behavior, therefore, must be approached according to the characteristics of the community, so it is important to make studies to determine these variables aiming to make advances in the consolidation of a favorable environmental culture.

Keywords : environmental culture; environmental values; environmental beliefs; environmental attitudes and environmental behaviors.
