This study presents a mixed-design investigation with an action-research focus to generate reflections and actions that contribute to the sustainable development of the territory in achieving the established goals.

Objective.

Create and structure an environmental journalism network in Corantioquia jurisdiction to join common efforts in favor of the environment.

Materials and methods.

The action-research work starts from a theoretical review of the keywords described; and then it collects primary information through surveys and semi structured interviews with people who are active in network, journalism and environmental processes to describe trends by means of graphic and percentage-based methods, aiming to drive social changes through the training of the different actors.

Results.

The Environmental Journalism Network was implemented in the region as a strategy to disseminate, share and know responsible information on the territories' sustainability, as well as to encourage an informative culture around environment protection.

Conclusion.

Although it is important to create the Environmental Journalism Network, it is even more important to structure it and enable its dynamization, activating edu-communicative strategies from the findings obtained, by strengthening the knowledge of the leaders that manage journalism activities in the territory, informative interaction and joint actions to achieve greater and better dissemination of the contents on the environment.
