Abstract

MEJIA CACERES, María Angélica. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FROM A CULTURAL PERSPECTIVE FOR TEACHER TRAINING IN NATURAL SCIENCE. Luna Azul [online]. 2016, n.43, pp.354-385. ISSN 1909-2474.  https://doi.org/10.17151/luaz.2016.43.16.

The object of this research was the design and implementation of a proposed environmental education from a cultural perspective, in the course: "History and Environmental Education" of the degree in Basic Education with Emphasis in Natural Sciences and Environmental Education of a Colombian university. The interest arises because the training of teachers should consider the pedagogical and epistemological basis of environmental education and try to overcome the reductionism of training, in which man is not assumed from different angles as a biological, political, social being, so as to overcome the positivist view of knowledge that leads to a relationship with the nature of technocratic and economistic. Therefore, I was raised as a methodology five stages; the first one aimed to identify different epistemological elements of cultural knowledge, discursive strategies and inter-cultural meanings with knowledge of the sciences for the construction of a proposed environmental education, through a content analysis of articles by renowned authors; the second aimed to identify the theoretical and methodological approaches developed at national level and the academic community on environmental education; the third stage to perform a data matching, so that later the proposal of environmental education in the fourth step is to design and eventually apply. In this sense, the convergent results of a project entitled "Principles for the cultural knowledge to the design of a proposed environmental education" are presented, based on the dialectic of recognition (I, another and oikos), identity (territory) and the establishment of knowledge networks, ie where the object is not to impart knowledge in a given society, but to build alternatives from the knowledge of the company itself dialectically with scientific knowledge; and the implementation of an educational proposal in the course of history and environmental education, since it was assumed the hypothesis that students had received over the course of scientific training component scientism and positivism, as a result of stiffness their teaching and learning.
