Abstract

CASTILLO SARMIENTO, Alma Yislem; SUAREZ GELVEZ, John Hermógenes  and  MOSQUERA TELLEZ, Jemay. NATURE AND SOCIETY: RELATIONS AND TRENDS FROM AN EUROCENTRIC APPROACH. Luna Azul [online]. 2017, n.44, pp.348-371. ISSN 1909-2474.  https://doi.org/10.17151/luaz.2017.44.21.

The objective of this work is to develop a review and reflection on the evolution of the links between nature-society and its trends. Methodologically, in the first part these relations in different historical periods and the interactions that characterized them are described. In the second part the major trends that have guided the thinking around a nature-society relationship, defined as the naturalist, ecologist and environmental tendency are presented, and how the latter permeated the focus of development in the twentieth century and gave way to the proposal of sustainable development is analyzed. Finally, the different discourses that frame the problematization of the nature-society relationship within the framework of the sustainable development are established.

Keywords : Nature; society; environment; sustainable development.
