Abstract

ROJAS, A.A. et al. Building 3D models in order to teach the Gauss' Law in a differential form. Entre Ciencia e Ingenieria [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.19, pp.33-39. ISSN 1909-8367.

This article presents some results of a research project aimed mainly to involve students in scientific modeling activities, through building computer models. The study was conducted with a group of 43 students of Civil and Systems Engineering from Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, located in Ibague, and was based on the scientific modeling, the computational modeling and the Meaningful Critical Learning Theory. The main findings reveal that the implementation of the didactic approach based on problem situations that were modeled on computer programs, favored student interaction, discussion, the formulation of questions based on the Gauss' Law and the construction of computer models used to represent problem situations presented, generating an understanding of concepts related to the field of knowledge.

Keywords : Physics teaching; Gauss' law; computational modeling.
