This article proposes a guide, called MANTELASOFT, a software maintenance guide, with which companies can assess the state of maintenance of their developments without taking too long to run, and that each company can adjust to their needs. This proposal is based on the MANTEMA methodology and the ISO/IEC 12207 standard. The MATELASOFT guide was validated by applying it to two companies in the city of Pereira. The results show that the guide contributes to the improvement of the software maintenance process in each company, which is also ratified with the post-application survey carried out in each one of them.
