Abstract
BOBADILLA GAVIRIA, Margarita R and MONTOYA GOEZ, Yesid de J. MEDICIÓN IN VITRO DE LA FUERZA DE FRICCIÓN EN DUPLAS ARCO-BRACKET CON ANGULACIÓN. Rev. ing. biomed. [online]. 2008, vol.2, n.3, pp.84-90. ISSN 1909-9762.
In this work the effect of second order angulation on sliding resistance for orthodontic wire-bracket couples was evaluated. Both the evaluated wires and brackets were made of AISI 316L stainless steel. The tests were performed at angles of 0°, 2°, 4°, 6° and 8°, by means of a universal testing machine at 5 mm/s. The surfaces were evaluated via scanning electron and optical microscopy. The results showed that the frictional resistance increases proportionally to the angulation of the wire, but at the same time, this frictional resistance strongly depended on the geometry of the slot and the Young´s modulus of the bracket and the wire.
