The central theme of this work is the postulation of the structure of a DIM (engineering and maintenance department) for third level clinics and hospitals in Colombian territory.
For this purpose, a technological surveillance, interviews, surveys, studies, among others; That allowed to consolidate a robust model of engineering department, which in turn combines all the good practices and characteristics of success that make use of both local and international scope to make hospital institutions grow from the economic point of view, efficiency in performance Of Services, decrease of risk associated to medical devices and increase of indices of quality.
Subsequently, the interrelationships of the engineering and maintenance department with other sections of the hospital are analyzed; Specifically with the departments of commerce, informatics and fixed assets. Finally, the indicators are placed for the management of the technology in the health that contribute to the strengthening of the structure of the department of engineering and maintenance.
