ERAZO-GOMEZ, Alejandra; MARTINEZ-CARRILLO, Hobeth  e  PALTA-CALAMBAS, Luz Aleyda. Between Invisibility and Freedom: LGBT Organizations Building Peace in Northern Cauca. CS [online]. 2023, n.41, e3.  Epub 18-Mar-2024. ISSN 2011-0324.  https://doi.org/10.18046/recs.i41.02.

This article discuss the close relationship between peace and the LGBT movement in Colombia. From a national perspective, the first LGBT and gender agenda for peace emerged through this community's participation in the Caguán peace process. Sixteen years later, consolidated LGBT organizations had an impact on ensuring that the gender focus of the Havana agreement included them. At the local level, we will focus on the experience of the northern Cauca region from an intersectional perspective; there, rural LGBT organizations have consolidated since 2018. The analysis shows that this was made possible due to both the transition from war to peace and the autonomous and institutional strengthening of local activism. The research was carried out using a qualitative methodology that included fieldwork with national, regional, and local organizations, and a literature review.

Palavras-chave : LGBT Movement; Sexual Diversity; Implementation of Peace Agreements; Peace-building; Intersectionality.
