Tourism is an economic activity that can contribute to improving the socio-economic development of a destination. Thus, this study qualitative is conducted in the Dominican city of Santiago de los Caballeros, and seeks the views of experts in tourism in the city, to analyze, after a period of time, if it has improved this sector. Among the main results, it should be noted that there will for tourism development, but this is only expressed in different plans, as it never quite done. Highlights include a large number of potential resources, especially natural and cultural, but there are also weaknesses. Through these strengths and weaknesses, you can develop strategies to help current planners identify the real concerns and problems of tourism, to implement appropriate policies.
