In this article is made an analysis of the understanding of the phenomenon of intentionality in creating a musical work, of composers of the Colombian Caribbean, founded theoretically from the existential psychology, in order of capturing the experience of participating subjects is performed and the meaning it has for them the musical composition, through of the phenome-nological method, understood as the method that respects the relationship that makes the person of their own experiences and focuses on those little communicable realities but which are crucial for the understanding of life psychic each person. The results showed through of their experience of musical creation, values that for them are of greater significance, thus achieving a sense of coherent sense encompassing the different dimensions of their lives, in this order the composition constitutes an alternative of psychological well-being resulting in mental health for the composer.
