Abstract

DIAZ-PERDOMO, María Liliana  and  ROJAS-SUAREZ, Nelson Darío. EDUCATION FOR CITIZENSHIP IN THE POST-AGREEMENT TIMES. Rev. eleuthera [online]. 2019, vol.20, pp.13-34. ISSN 2011-4532.  https://doi.org/10.17151/eleu.2019.20.2.

Objective.

This review article aims to place internationally the post-conflict education in Colombia in relation to the experiences of other countries that have experienced similar processes.

Methodology.

A search was made of the specialized bibliography that is directly related to research on the topic.

Results.

It was found that in the countries with similar post-agreement situations, they go through something similar to what happens in Colombia: as long as education maintains violent authoritarian parameters with pedagogical models based on memory, it is not possible to acclimate a culture of peace.

Conclusion.

It is necessary to empower an education for citizenship that meets three criteria in order to have a true restoration of peace: social cohesion, citizen participation and historical memory.

Keywords : citizenship education; education for peace; armed conflict; post-conflict.
