Abstract

Objective:

To expose the territorial control of the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia - Ejército del Pueblo FARC-EP in Southeastern Colombia.

Methodology:

The methodology was based on qualitative research focused on a life history approach with six people who lived in the area while the guerrilla group took control.

Results:

The functions assumed by the armed group and the control over the interactions of the population under its power are highlighted in the findings.

Conclusions:

The article finishes by highlighting the militarization carried out by the FARC-EP, its relationship with the other methods of war applied by other armed groups and its negative implications for civilian life.
