Objective:

To carry out an approximation to the methodological dimension of the professional intervention of social workers in some cities of the Coffee Triangle area and the North of the Colombian Valley in order to contribute to its foundation.

Methodology:

Qualitative descriptive approach based on the grounded theory method.

Results:

Reflections on the theories, methods and privileged techniques in praxis were identified as main contributions to the intervention methodology, as well as strengths, difficulties, lessons learned and challenges that emerge from the professional experience.

Conclusions:

Contributions for the methodological dimension in professional intervention from various current professional experiences which contributes to the debates about contemporary professional praxis were recovered.
