This paper examines how art can contribute to the reconstruction processes of social relationships. To this effect, it proposes to take up ideas and experiences about how the theatrical field, specifically, participates in social transformations. The article recovers some studies on social life as acting, and, in particular, it examines the notions of character, tension, and strangeness for social analysis. Next, it presents experiences from the theatrical field that investigated the transforming dimension of this artistic practice. The purpose is to gather tools that would allow us to disassemble long-term fictions and to make proposals in order to capture imaginations that come with lightning.
