The local architectural heritage as a teaching resource is considered through the entire national curriculum as a pedagogical tool that allows the valuation of personal and real state property. In the educational context, the subjects of history and arts generate multiple strategies and didactic activities that allow students to address the different knowledge and significant learning associated with the concept of material heritage. The following article deals with knowledge about architectural heritage from province of Biobío, Chile, which primary school teachers have. Through qualitative research, from the perspective of the case study, the results and conclusions allow us to establish a high educational assessment that teachers express about the recognition, preservation and protection of architectural heritage as base for the construction of social memory and experiential learning located within a process of critical and symbolic reflection that are linked to the historical traditions, identity and ties of cultural heritage between the past, present and future.
