This reflection article considers some of the particularities that occur in culture and especially in its relationship with music. This is due to the need for exalting elements of identity character that allow its conservation from the musical rhythmic. It considers the panorama offered by globalization in some of its most felt repercussions on culture and music. Likewise, the importance of education is raised from its essence, hand in hand with the contributions that musical education propitiates. This fact reveals a series of conjugations and contributions that involve the sociocultural environment. Besides, an approach is made to multiculturalism together with Intangible Cultural Heritage and the immense value it holds. The article addresses the relevance that percussion instruments have for many Latin American and Caribbean countries as elements immersed in their cultures is mentioned, like the prominence of the rhythms that through their musical genres have become national symbols and heritage of humankind. Accordingly, education is seen as a decisive factor for cultural promotion, which leads to presenting a proposal aimed at articulating the learning of musical rhythmic language as part of the subject of Latin Percussion in Higher Education.
