Pensam. palabra obra [online]. 2023, n.29, pp.119-142.  Epub Jan 01, 2023. ISSN 2011-804X.  https://doi.org/10.17227/ppo.num29-18228.

This paper discusses the relevance and contribution of the creative work of composer Guillermo Uribe Holguín (1880-1971) and is dedicated to the current generation of musicians and the artistic environment par excellence. The analysis focuses on the musicological study of his sonatas for violin and piano, but weaves in contextual elements of the historical moment in which he lived, as well as some theoretical perspectives that emerge when facing this type of initiative, since it is a reflective work brought about by the creative research project, Cycle of Sonatas for Violin and Piano by Guillermo Uribe Holguín: A Stylistic Discussion and an Interpretative Proposal.

Keywords : sonatas for violin and piano; Guillermo Uribe Holguín; Colombian academic music.
