Abstract
ZUNIGA-BAOS, Jorge Alberto. Snakes registered in the municipality of Plato, Magdalena, Colombia. rev. colombiana cienc. anim. Recia [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.2, pp.56-61. Epub Feb 14, 2023. ISSN 2027-4297. https://doi.org/10.24188/recia.v13.n2.2021.862.
Through sampling and sporadic records obtained between June 1, 2 020 and April 30, 2021, a preliminary list of snakes is presented for the Municipality of Plato, Magdalena. A total of 64 individuals were recorded, belonging to 25 species and 6 families, Colubridae being the most representative (16 spp.), And Tantilla semicincta and Lygophis lineatus the most abundant species. 36% of the species are affected by vehicle run over or death by human actions. Finally, these results show an important wealth on this faunistic group for the municipality, with this information it is expected to promote new studies, where the scientific community and residents are articulated in favor of the conservation of snakes.
