MORAN, DANIEL  e  CARCELEN, CARLOS. From a "Happy Revolution" to a "Criminal Revolution". The Concept of Revolution in the Press of Lima and Buenos Aires in Times of Political Legitimacy (1810-1816). Front. hist. [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.1, pp.148-178.  Epub 01-Jan-2022. ISSN 2027-4688.  https://doi.org/10.22380/20274688.1360.

In times of commemorations of the bicentennials of independence in Latin America and before an important historiographical renewal, this work reflects the characteristics, meanings and political uses of the concept of revolution in the press speeches of Lima and Buenos Aires in that complex conjuncture of war (1810-1816). In this sense, the concept of revolution served to defend the interests of the groups of realistic or revolutionary power, characterizing in both cases a political process, the historical agents that faced it, the contrasts, variations and meanings of the term within their spaces of influence and their own legitimacy and political practice.

Palavras-chave : Independence; press; revolution; political legitimacy; Lima; Buenos Aires.
