This article focuses on the study of 45 census deeds of the First Notary Fund of the Central Archive of Cauca to identify the credits made by the Cathedral of Popayán between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in order to analyze the system of loans of this and its economic management system at the head of the cathedral chapter. The types of censuses, values and revenues are then characterized, as well as the census, goods and geography of the loans granted.
