The subject of this article is to analyze the epidemics that affected the population of Santafé, capital of Nueva Granada, between the years of 1739-1810, a period in which there were five important excess mortality rates caused by epidemics: 1744-45, 1756- 57, 1764,1782-83 y 1793-96. From the historical demography, and with the help of the method known as the multiplier factor, we try to measure the intensity of these events, emphasizing the age groups of adults and infants.
