CARMONA-IDARRAGA, María Isabel y HERNANDEZ-GIRALDO, Luz Amparo. Writing as a Peace Experience: Transforming the Understanding of Peace through Written Production in Fifth Grade Children. Aleth. rev. desarro. hum. educ. soc. contemp. [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp.36-55. ISSN 2145-0366.
State tests fall short to evaluate how children write in Colombia. From there, the concern to investigate how writing transforms the understandings of peace of four children and three girls of fifth grade of basic primary from an official urban institution. This article presents a research of a qualitative type, with a methodological design of multiple case study. The collection of information was carried out through two semi-structured interviews (one initial and one final), the implementation of six workshops created by researchers on writing and peace, and records in field journals. The analysis and interpretation of the information was developed in five stages: transcription of information, natural categorization and axial categorization, semantic networks elaboration and confirmation of transformations. The results demonstrate the epistemic and social character of writing; It is considered an important finding for the research to identify writing as an emotive subject that allows subjects to enunciate and recognize themselves through it and transform the way boys and girls face concepts that are relatable in their daily lives.
