Abstract

PEREZ, Sergio Moctezuma; LINARES, Carmen Delia Hernández; BORDI, Ivonne Vizcarra  and  SANCHEZ, Areli Ramírez. An Approach to Youth Identities in Malinalco, State of Mexico, from their Social Trajectories. Aleth. rev. desarro. hum. educ. soc. contemp. [online]. 2020, vol.12, n.2, e08.  Epub Dec 12, 2020. ISSN 2145-0366.

The objective of this article is to analyze the process of identity formation among young people in Malinalco, State of Mexico. Interviews were conducted with nine young people and eight adults in order to identify similarities and differences in their social trajectories. The conceptual approach comes from the actor-centered theory, combined with a constructivist approach, which prioritizes the reconstruction of life stories. The authors conclude that beyond the generational shock that exists between young people and adults, young people tend to respond and act in their contexts from the cultural premises with which they are educated.

Keywords : State of Mexico; youth; identity; social trajectories; livelihood.
