Resumen

This article shows the importance of the development of the socio-affective dimension and how this could transcend in the child's life. Likewise, a set of concepts that have to do with socio-affective dimension are determined, and it is also explained how this is affected by a process of divorce in the family nuclei. Moreover, this study follows a qualitative paradigm as a reference and it is oriented under an ethnographic research. At the same time, some results from the information gathering techniques are presented (non-participant observation, unstructured interviews, and workshops). The project from which the writing of this article is derived was named "The influence that parents' separation has in the socio-affective dimension of children from 8 to 10 years old", and in this one, some institutions participated along the study: Institución Educativa Rural Santa Elena, from Santa Elena sector; Medellin, Antioquia and Universidad Católica Luis Amigó; Medellin, Antioquia. Among the most remarkable findings, it could be perceived a direct affectation that divorce has upon the development of the socio-affective dimension of children, and their respective psychological, social and emotional implication.
