Abstract

ECHAVARRIA ARBOLEDA, Andrea. Relations between the educational service and consumer statute. rev.ces derecho [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.1, pp.51-64. ISSN 2145-7719.

This specialized article on the application of consumer law in the provision of educational services by Higher Education Institutions Article - (IES, by its name in spanish), aims to analyze the applicability of the statute of Consumer Law 1480 of 2011, to the field. It is about gathering information on the proposed issue, encompassing the relations between the educational service and the Consumer Statute. First, the revision of the constitutional provisions of Article 69 are addressed, as a guarantee of university autonomy, and Article 78, regarding consumer protection when buying goods and services, and then part of the apparent boundary addresses between special standards, on higher education and consumption. To conclude, it seeks to check the level of permeability of consumer law in the service of education, in defense of the student as a user.
