Abstract

VICENTE-HERRERO, Mª Teófila et al. Telework and occupational health: medical-legal and labor aspects. rev.ces derecho [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.2, pp.287-297. ISSN 2145-7719.  https://doi.org/10.21615/cesder.9.2.6.

Teleworking is defined as the work activity that takes place outside the company’s facilities and with the use of information and communication technologies. The basic regulations are part of the 2002 European Framework Agreement on Teleworking. In Spain, the Workers Statute includes since 2012 in article 13 the characteristics of remote work. The main occupational hazards detected are ergonomic, psychosocial and difficult separation of family and work life, together with the impact on environmental pollution by the use of information and communication technologies. Medical research on this subject is scarce and focused on its use in people with limitations due to disability, age, pregnancy, postpartum or lactation situation and in epidemics or pandemics. It is necessary to adapt the rules on safety and hygiene at work to cases of teleworking.
