This paper's propose is to show an approach to four fundamental axes of symbolic imaginary presents in the novels of Carlos Fuentes in his work written between 1958 and 1980. The analyzed axes, essentially from the mythocritic theory of Gilbert Durand, are: the abismal, the sacrificial, the prisons of the being and the nocturne.
