AQUINO ORDINOLA, Frank David. THE WOMEN OF KLOAKA AND THE METATEXTUAL MARKS REGARDING “UNIFIED MARGINALITY”: MARY SOTO AND MARIELA DREYFUS. perifrasis. rev.lit.teor.crit. [online]. 2019, vol.10, n.19, pp.81-96. ISSN 2145-8987. https://doi.org/10.25025/perifrasis201910.19.05.
This article analizes the metatextual marks in two poetry collections written by women who belonged to the literary movement known as Kloaka:Limpios de tiempo(1998) by Mary Soto, andMemorias de Electra(1984) by Mariela Dreyfus. The focus on the metatextual marks is based on the hypothesis that the poetic voice built throughout both books denies or parodies the voice of a “unified self,” category taken from Toril Moi’sFeminist Literary Theory(1988). Although the authors depict poetics of “unified marginality,” their respective poetic self will be presented as a unifying voice instead of a unified one, or as an androgynous self.
