The following article describes the results on the use of Facebook as an educational tool in the teaching-learning process in high school, applied to students in the second half of the year in Mexico and Colombia. Mixed paradigm was used for the study of four cases of teachers who used this social tool in their educational settings. To collect the information two surveys , an assessment rubric and an observation guide were used; whose main objective was to investigate whether or not the use of Facebook would be accepted in the educational field. It was found that females scored better academic performance with this way of learning ; likewise emphasizes the use of cellular technology and most importantly that there is a strong communication link between the academic community and Facebook, allowing to discuss any topic of study in a collaborative and constructive.
