Abstract

CIFUENTES GARZON, José Eduardo  and  RICO CACERES, Sandra Patricia. Productive educational projects and entrepreneurship in rural youth. Zona prox. [online]. 2016, n.25, pp.87-102. ISSN 2145-9444.  https://doi.org/10.14482/zp.22.5832.

Abstract This research article reports the social representations of rural youth against productive educational projects and entrepreneurship in the context of the new rurality. To characterize these representations, we chose ethnographic methodology, which allowed to recover the voices of 36 high school students from a school in the municipality of La Palma Cundinamarca. The results indicate how the war transformed rural youngs’ life and environment. In addition, findings evidence the way these youngsters conceive productive pedagogical projects, from the perspective of identity, territoriality, productivity and education, and how they recognize entrepreneurship as attitude of excellence, creation of a new project and aspiration for a better future. Recommendations were made to rethink the role of students in curriculum planning and teaching practices of training in agriculture.

Keywords : social representations; productive educational projects; entrepreneurship culture and new rurality.
