Resumen

PARRA HOYOS, EDWIN LEANDRO; CARO LOPERA, MIGUEL ÁNGEL  y  ZAMBRANO-VALENCIA, JUAN DAVID. Approach to the state of the art on the revision of academic texts. Zona prox. [online]. 2024, n.41, pp.38-65.  Epub 04-Jul-2024. ISSN 2145-9444.  https://doi.org/10.14482/zp.41.365.444.

This article examines the state of the art regarding the revision of academic texts at different levels of formal education and in some disciplinary domains. Its purpose is to analyze fifty studies of the Spanish-speaking and English-speaking contexts of the last 20 years to describe the research outlook in this sense, with the simultaneous idea of hatching a reflection on writing inside classrooms, starting from the question: How do students learn to write? With this in mind, the exploratory systematic review protocol is followed, which is why the following bibliometric variables are defined: databases, year and type of publication, journal, authors, institution, and language. Besides, the corpus of texts is grouped into four categories: reviews from a cognitive approach (8 papers), from a socio-cognitive approach (15 papers), from a socio-cultural approach (16 papers), and from an epistemic approach (11 papers). Such analysis allows for evidence of an evolution in research on academic writing. It is concluded, on the one hand, that there is a need to transform the revision of texts into a subject of inquiry in the field of elementary, middle, and high school education, since 70% of the findings studied are carried out at higher education levels. On the other hand, it is confirmed that the revision of texts constitutes an object of analysis that offers multiple possibilities to work in classrooms.
