Information management in the business as well as in the productive sector results in the identification, development and implementation of strategies to strengthen their capabilities and competitive advantages. Typically, these processes are performed within the framework of competitive intelligence that seeks the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of information of strategic value on a particular sector, which is transferred to those responsible for making decisions. This article presents the using of market intelligence in the quinoa production chain, mainly finding opportunities in the development of medicinal foods, improving the nutritional properties of consumer products in cereal-based food processing, as well as the trend in the consumption of foods with Protected designation of origin (PDO).
