As coordinator of the Ondas Program of COLCIENCIAS, I introduce some considerations about the pedagogical experience conducted in Boyacá. This paper is supported on the work carried out over a period of about eight years, during which substantial contributions were made to building a research culture in the department, by means of the more than 1.000 academic researches conducted in departmental Education Institutions, by children and youth. This article is organised in three parts: in the first one, I describe the features of the Ondas Colciencias program, and its focus on research as a pedagogical strategy, main theoretical support for the pedagogical and investigative proposal. Subsequently I present the conceptual elements, which are the axis for transforming the educational practices with the teachers and the Ondas groups. Finally, I describe the new educational ways built by the children, youths, and teachers as they participated in research processes. This last aspect was accomplished through four pedagogically strong and impactful experiences, at the loca land regional levels, in addition to national and international recognition.
