Abstract

ACEVEDO-ZAPATA, Sandra. ETHICAL REFLECTIONS ON DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT IN INCLUSIVE HIGHER EDUCATION SETTINGS. Prax. Saber [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.15, pp.147-164. ISSN 2216-0159.  https://doi.org/10.19053/22160159.v7.n15.2016.5727.

This article presents different considerations, with the aim of giving visibility to the need of appropriating an organizational culture based on ethics, through the management of diversity in higher education institutions. For this purpose, we bring forth some constituent elements of the concept of ethics and ethical practices within their dimensions, in relation to diversity management from the perspective raised by Ventosa (2012); with the goal of inviting institutions to appropriate inclusive higher education models following the characteristics outlined by Blanco (2008). Regarding the methodological aspect, an exploratory research was developed consisting of double entry matrices in which the verbal and documentary information, compiled through interviews, anecdotal records, and archival documents, were categorized and classified. The final analysis and considerations gathered in this article are based on the aforementioned data. These considerations highlight the need for transforming everyday practices under the advancement of the dimensions and categories of diversity management.

Keywords : management; ethics; higher education; cultural diversity.
