Abstract

ROA GARCIA, Paola Andrea. Health, Body and Life: Genealogy of Sex Education at School In Colombia. Prax. Saber [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.17, pp.67-84. ISSN 2216-0159.  https://doi.org/10.19053/22160159.v8.n17.2018.4714.

This article draws on projects carried out by the Trayectos y Aconteceres: estudios del ser y el quehacer del maestro desde la pedagogía (Paths and events: studies of man and teacher's work from the pedagogical field) research group, attached to the Department of Biology at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, with the objective of presenting some problematizations around the discursive practices relating to sex education at school in Colombia and the relations with the permanence, the transformation and the discontinuity of certain sexual practices. Thus, it is a bet for thinking sex education, sexuality, school and subjects from a contemporary perspective. It is not intended to show a series of events, but to view, from a genealogical point, statements that have given rise to the necessity of sex education. References are made to what has been recently called as the failure of sex education. According to statistics, this is due to socially relevant issues such as teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, homophobia, the use of psychoactive substances, gender transition, among others. In this way, body, life, and health become statements that have given rise to the emergence of sex education as a strategy at school in Colombia.

Keywords : education; teaching and training; sexuality.
