This article discusses the findings of a study on the theoretical development of pedagogy in Colombia over the last thirty years of the 20th century. It emphasizes the importance of thoroughly examining the theoretical advancements in pedagogy within the country and offers some suggestions in this regard. The document is divided into three sections. The first section outlines the analytical approach of the study and provides methodological considerations. The second section explores three key factors that have contributed to the evolution of pedagogy in Colombia: the Colombian Pedagogical Movement, the rise of postgraduate education programs, and the increase in specialized educational journals, all of which have enhanced educational research and pedagogical studies. Lastly, the document identifies five key distinctions in the pedagogical research produced in Colombia, focusing on various aspects such as the accents, the way dialogues with other disciplines were produced, the substantive in the study of pedagogy, a commitment to its conceptual horizon, and the need for analysis of its professional performance field.
